Further Mathematics AS/A2 Level at Chichester High Schools Sixth Form

Course description

The Further Mathematics AS Qualification consists of study in new areas of Pure Mathematics including complex numbers and matrices. The students will also study for two applied modules in the area of Decision Mathematics. This is a new area of Maths which entails a study of the Maths involved in the decision making of business. All students wiII take the Decision 1, Further Pure 1 and Decision 2 module exams in June of Year 12.

The Further Mathematics A2 Qualification consists of study into more new areas of Pure Mathematics including differential equations and proof. The students will also study for two applied modules. The content of these modules is dependent upon the interests of the students. The students could go further into Pure Maths,Mechanics or Statistics.

All students will take the three modules as exams in June of Year 13.

5 GCSEs at grade C or above with a grade A in Maths and preferably an AS Additional Maths grade C.
