Light Vehicle Maintenance Diploma level 3 (full-time) at Weston College

Course description

This course is high in practical diagnostic content and covers the diagnosis of modern complex motor vehicle systems including advanced systems operation and their faults. You will study both the theory and practical aspects of diagnosis and rectification of light vehicles. A large part of the course uses diagnostic equipment within the motor vehicle workshop.

It is made up of a number of separate modules that cover different topics. These topics are delivered in both classroom and practical workshop sessions and all modules must be passed to a College and motor vehicle industry standard, to complete the course.

Course content

Diagnosis and repair modules included are:

  • Engine and cooling systems
  • Fuel systems
  • Transmission systems
  • Brake systems
  • Steering and suspension systems
  • Electrical systems and inspection

Entry requirements

Successful completion of IMI Diploma level 2 Light Vehicle
Maintenance. You will also be invited to an interview with a
member of the course team.
