Music Technology AS/A2 Level at The Grange School

Course description

Music Technology enables you to study Music through technology. It recognises technology as a way of music making in its own right and allows you to develop your skills, knowledge and understanding. This course would be appropriate for anyone who has a keen interest in music technology and who enjoys creating and listening to different styles of music.

Course content

Students taking this course will learn how to:  produce performances using computer sequencing software in a range of musical styles  develop the skills required to make high quality recordings of musical performances  compose and arrange using music technology.  develop knowledge of the principles and development of music technology  learn how to control and interpret data.

Entry requirements

5 GCSE’s at A* - C and a genuine interest in music technology.


The course will include the assessment of: AS  Sequenced Realised Performance  Multi-track recording  Creative Sequenced Arrangement  Listening and Analysing A2  Sequenced Integrated Performance  Multi-track recording  Composing using Music Technology  Analysing and Producing
