Art at Range High School

Course description

Range High School Art Department is made up of a number of well qualified, practicing artists who can each offer their own specialist area of expertise.

You will work within a vibrant, stimulating environment, which has its own Gallery area and offers a good range of specialist art materials and access to Apple Mac laptops and cameras.

The aim of the course is to extend your existing creative skills. You will also develop your ability to work independently and to communicate and express your ideas through a variety of visual skills.

The Art Department offer an open door policy to all Sixth form Art students and you are welcome and encouraged to come into the department and continue your studies outside of normal lesson times.

As part of the course you will also be given the experience of working with an experienced visiting Artist, viewing their original work first hand and taking part in a series of workshops delivered by the artist surrounding their own techniques and working practices.

Outside of the classroom the Art department also offer a number of enrichment activities, which have included Liverpool Gallery visits, trips to the Clothes Show Live, scenery production and opportunities to mentor and assist within GCSE lessons.

Entry requirements

To be guaranteed a place on this course, which is available on both the red and green pathway you need to meet the admissions criteria for Range High School with:

* B Grade in this subject for the Red pathway
* B Grade is desirable for the green pathway
