Caring for Children Entry Level Certificate at East Berkshire College

Course description

This qualification will encourage and enable you to discover and develop skills in caring for children. It is designed to help you to decide whether or not a career in childcare might be for you.

You will study topics including; confidence building for a child through play, listening and talking to a child, health lifestyles, routines and play and learning in the home.

This course is part of the Advance to Go programme.

Entry requirements

An interest in working with children or in the care environment.


Assessment will be through a variety of evidence produced for your portfolio. Topics are classroom based and will include practical and written activities.

Future opportunities

  • Level 1 Diploma in Caring for Children
  • This course can lead to further study at Level 1 in Childcare or other Foundation courses
