Course description
The travel and tourism sector continues to grow at a rapid pace for leisure and business purposes, and Norfolk has a rich diversity in the tourist industry which has historically provided a vast amount of career opportunities within it.
We’re looking to help fill specific skills gaps identified such as customer service skills, geographical knowledge and related business skills. The qualifications have been designed to provide an all-round introduction for those looking for careers in connected industries, including retail travel, visitor attractions, accommodation, transport and tour operations.

- Investigating the Travel & Tourism Sector
- The Business of Travel & Tourism
- The UK as a Destination
- Customer Service in Travel & Tourism
- Specialist Tourism
- Events, Conferences and Exhibitions.
Entry requirements
Four GCSEs grade C or above including GCSE English Language.
Assessment
Awarding Body – Edexcel
Assignment-based: 3 units in a year, between 3-4 assignments for each unit.
Future opportunities
On successful completion of a BTEC Level 3 qualification, a learner can progress to or within employment and/or continue their study in the same, or related vocational area. It will provide career development and progression opportunities to higher education, degree and professional development programmes within the same or related areas of study, within universities and other institutions.
