Engineering Level 3 BTEC Diploma at Suffolk One

Course description

Have you ever wondered how things around you are constructed or how they work? This couse is designed for students that have an enquiring mind and wish to put their skills in to practice! The course for students that wish to pursue a career in Electrical/Electronic or Mechanical Engineering.

A BTEC Level 3 Extended diploma is a work-related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. As well as learning about the employment area you have chosen, you develop the skills you need to start or progress a career. Valued by employers and universities, they offer a clear route into employment or higher education. It is equivalent to three A-Levels.

Course content

You will study 6 mandatory units and 18 specialist units (a few examples provided below and are subject to change)

Entry requirements

5 GCSE A*-C to include English & Maths & a C in Science.

Future opportunities

The course provides a technical level of construction knowledge and is designed for students who wish to seek employment at this technical level. Progression from this course could lead to studying a degree level qualification in Civil Engineering or Architecture or any related construction degree.
