Course description

Course content

The course is divided into 6 units, 3 AS units and 3 A2 units. The course contains elements of Electrical Circuits, Motion, Forces and Energy, Waves and Oscillations, Atomic and Nuclear Physics, Thermodynamics, Fields, Electromagnetism and Alternating Currents.

Assessment

PH1:

  • 20% of A Level
  • Written Examination: 1½ hours

PH2:

  • 20% of A Level
  • Written Examination: 1½ hours

PH3:

  • 10% of A Level
  • Practical Examination: 1½ hours

PH4:

  • 18% of A Level
  • Written Examination: 1½ hours

PH5:

  • 22% of A Level
  • Written Examination: 1¾ hours

PH6:

  • 10% of A Level
  • Experimental Task: 1¼ hours
  • Data Analysis Task: 45 minutes
