Introduction to Health and Social Care and Children and Young People's Settings CACHE at Hartlepool College of Further Education

Course description

The aim is to introduce and develop learners' knowledge and awareness of health, social care and children and young people's settings. There is a particular focus on Early Years and Children's units.

Course content

The course content covers a mix of 14 different mandatory and optional units covering health, social care, children and young people.

Entry requirements

Learners need to achieve 5 GCSEs grades D-E or an Entry 3 Level qualification.


This qualification is portfolio based using a range of assessment methods including assignments, observations, discussions and presentations.

Future opportunities

Progression to Level 2 CYPW, Level 2 Health or Level 2 One Award within Health and Care School.
