Skills for Life(Entry Level 2 & 3) at Mid Cheshire College

Course description

Develop skills in communication and literacy, working with numbers and Information Technology. Experience different vocational areas and develop appropriate life skills through practical activities. Students work in small groups with individual support where appropriate. Specialist support is available and includes, communicators, specialist resources, physical assistance and Dyslexia specialists.

Course content

This course includes the following units: Functional English and Maths. Information Technology, Enterprise Activities, Citizenship, Personal Development and Community Studies. You will also choose at least two options from a range of vocation areas such as Performing Arts, Construction, Art & Design and Catering,subject to availability.

Entry requirements

Foundation for Future Entry level courses are for those who have gained no formal qualifications at school or for other reasons do not meet the requirements of a level 1 course and also require further career guidance to try a range of options with extra support.


Coursework is assessed throughout the course by means of assignments and projects leading to Edexcel Entry Level Awards and Certificates.

Future opportunities

Staff and students have regular contact with the careers service. On completing this Entry level course, students may wish to access the Certificate in Vocational Studies Entry Level 3 course or a Level 1 course.
