Sport Level 2 Diploma at Writtle University College

Course description

This practical course is designed to develop the basic skills that will prepare you for work in the industry or allow you to move towards a more advanced qualification.

Course content

Sports physiology, coaching, practical sports, leading sports activities, nutrition for sports performance and injuries in sport. The course also includes fitness instructor qualifications as additional learning goals.

Entry requirements

Four GCSE grades at A-D with at least one grade C in English, Maths or Science. It is also preferable that you have GCSE P.E. Alternative qualifications or experience will be considered on application.


Various forms of written and practical assessment.

Future opportunities

Progress to a higher level qualification such as the Extended National Diploma in Sports Development, Coaching and Fitness or Outdoor Adventure Activities. You will also be well suited to finding employment in areas such as sports development, coaching and training, sport administration and organisation.
