Religion, Philosophy and Ethics A Level at Waingels College

Course description

A level RS explores the responses to life’s most fundamental questions, helping students to reflect on their own beliefs and their place in the world. The course contains three components; Philosophy of Religion, Religion & Ethics, Developments in Christian Thought. The course will give you the opportunity to explore and challenge basic philosophical and ethical concepts and thinkers. You will also develop skills to examine arguments in a critical way to the highest academic standard. The course is perfect for students of all beliefs and none, who seek to understand the world around them in an open-minded way.

Entry requirements

Standard entry requirements, plus a Grade 5 in English Language/Literature & a C grade in one of the following subjects: RS, History or Psychology.


Exam (100%), Three 2hr exams (33.33% each)

Future opportunities

Students go on to study Law, Philosophy, Business, Psychology, Medicine, Policing & Theology to name a few.
