Health and Social Care Advanced Apprenticeship Level 3 at Barnet and Southgate College

Course description

This qualification aims to develop the knowledge and skills that will aid learners for a variety of roles and job titles, including care workers, community, support and outreach workers, personal assistance, domiciliary care workers, supervisors and senior care workers.

Course content

To study for the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Health and Social Care, learners must attend classes for 5 hours a week over the duration of 18 months in order to achieve

Entry requirements

Successful candidates will be in a supervisory role in a health and social care setting, this may include senior health care assistants or supervisors. However, this is rather a broad definition, and therefore any relevant experiences and/or roles will be discussed in detail during an interview. Furthermore, all successful candidates will need to demonstrate the ability to work at Level 2 in Maths and English.


You will be assessed through course work and 2-3 practical assessments in the working environment.

Future opportunities

Learners may progress from this pathway onto further qualifications specific to their work context. Candidates wishing to continue with further studies may progress onto Higher Apprenticeships at Level 5. Successful completion of an Advanced Apprenticeship will allow the learner to move into more senior positions/roles within the health and social care sector.
