A Level Dance at Hardenhuish School

Course description

At AS Level candidates will focus on the development of your
own performance and choreography within a solo and a
duo/trio. You will receive training in technique, the health and
safety of the dancer and the process and craft of choreography.
You will develop critical skills through the analysis of
choreography and performance within your own work and that
of the professional repertoire.
At A2, candidates develop skills and extend and apply knowledge
gained at AS level. The focus of choreography is shifted towards
group dance. Candidates develop knowledge and understanding
of a specific area of study related to the development of one of
the following: modern dance, ballet, jazz dance. Performance
skills will be developed in relation to a specific practitioner.

Entry requirements

GCSE grade C in Dance is desirable if Dance has beenstudied previously.
