Information Technology BTEC Certificate Subsidiary Diploma Level 3 at Saint Mary's College, Blackburn
This course will cover many of the areas of information technology and computer science required by businesses. The units of study include the configuration of computer hardware, computer programming, website production and computer animation. Students will learn about the hardware components of computer systems and develop the skills needed to recommend appropriate systems for business purposes. The skills needed to set up and maintain computer systems are also covered. The Computer Programming unit covers the principles of software design and the fundamental skills required to be a computer programmer. The Website Production unit will provide an understanding of the factors that affect the performance of a website and the skills needed to design and create interactive websites. The Computer Animation unit will ensure students understand the different types of animation available and develop the knowledge and skills required to design and implement them.
A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade C including English Language grade C and Mathematics grade C.
