Supporting the Delivery of Physical Education and School Sport Level 3 Certificate at Redbridge College

Course description

This course will provide the appropriate skills and knowledge to be able to provide support in primary school PE sessions or for after school sports activities. There have been recent changes in the National Curriculum in Primary Schools and providers of school PE will need a recognised qualification.

Course content

Students will learn how to plan, deliver and evaluate physical education lessons for primary school children in lines with the National Curriculum.

Entry requirements

You must have completed either the Level 2 Certificate in Supporting Learning in Physical Education and School Sport or the NVQ Level 2 in Activity Leadership. You must be working towards English and maths at GCSE grade C.


You'll be taught by our highly skilled team of professionals who will pass on their years of industry knowledge and experience to you. Course sessions will be delivered through a variety of methods including workshops, lectures and practical activities. You will also attend work experience at local Primary schools. You will be assessed in a variety of formats to test your subject knowledge and demonstrate your ability to work with young children in a safe and effective environment.

Future opportunities

On completion of this course you will be able to work in schools during class delivering PPA cover or delivering after school sports activities.  You will also have the opportunity to apply for work with coaching companies.
