Fashion BTEC Level 3 Extended Diploma at Havering College of Further and Higher Education
You will work in our studio as you develop an understanding of good design principles and basic fashion skills. You will also work on your critical analysis of visual ideas and materials.
There are 180 credits to be achieved on this course and they will cover the following:
- Flat Pattern Cutting
- Pattern Construction
- Fabric Embellishment
- Fashion Illustration
If you have not yet achieved a grade C (or above) in GCSE English and maths, you will be required to attend GCSE resit sessions (if you achieved grade D) or functional skills sessions (if you achieved grade E or below).
- At least 4 GCSEs at grade C or above (including English and maths)
- A portfolio of work that demonstrates a passion for fashion
You will be assessed through written and practical assignments.
You could progress onto university to further study fashion & design.
Employment opportunities could include a junior position within the fashion industry as a designer, pattern cutter, sample machinist, buyer, or as a journalist.
