Hairdressing Level 1 at Middlesbrough College

Course description

This course is for anyone aspiring to become a trainee hair stylist. It will cover practical and all aspects of theory, with an assignment or exam to cover each unit. You will practice hair services within our modern ‘Tees Style Two’ commercial hair salon. This course may include 9.00am starts and a late night. You will develop skills in a realistic working environment with sector relevant work experience. The units will cover: Health and safety Styling hair Plaiting and twisting Professional image Shampooing and conditioning Basic colouring Reception Working with others Dressing hair Creating a hair and beauty image Learning about the industry. All learners to study 2 hours of English and Math’s. All learners will be encouraged to study to GCSE grade C. You will attend 4 hours of theory a week You will attend 7 hours of practical a week

Entry requirements

3 GCSES grade D - G "If you do not have a Grade A to C in English and/or Maths, you will be required to continue studying these subjects as part of your Study Programme."

Full time VRQ level 2 Hairdressing or an apprenticeship in Hairdressing
