WHY CHOOSE FILM STUDIES?
Film is the major art form of the twentieth century. It is the medium of the new millennium and is constantly growing and changing. This course will give you the opportunity to use film as your 'texts', deepening your understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of all areas of cinema. Both critical and creative approaches will be developed.

- In order to progress onto Advanced Level courses you must achieve at least a D grade at AS Level in three subjects (excluding General Studies)

Unit 4: 2 hours written examination paper
This is a qualification, which is relevant in all areas where creative and analytical skills are valuable. A degree in Film can lead to a wide variety of careers including working in TV production, the film industry or publishing. You will develop personal, academic, practical and creative skills through the study of film. The critical analysis and communication skills which you acquire uniquely equip you as facilitators and communicators. These skills are transferrable and highly regarded by employees in all fields.
WHAT DO I NEED TO START THE COURSE?
You need a genuine interest and dedication to all areas of the cinema. Willingness and enthusiasm to read widely, research independently, discuss and write about film are all essential.
