Art (Textiles) AS Level at Wolverley CofE Secondary School
Textiles is about creating a unique textile product which addresses a need in the market. It looks at trends, construction methods and translating your own vision into a marketable product.
During AS students submit a portfolio this means they are working on a range of projects throughout the year based on a chosen area – fashion suiting or interior textiles. Students have designed and made a shirt, printed fabric and cushions. At A2 students submit one project of their choice with recent examples of work including stunning evening outfits.
GCSE Textiles Technology Grade A* - C would be an advantage.
Your A level in Textiles could lead to degree courses in fashion design, textile design, trend forecasting, styling and marketing. Foundation art courses are also another natural pathway. The opportunities are literally endless.
