Course description

Depending on your previous qualifications, you could opt to study either an Extended Diploma, Diploma or Subsidiary Diploma in Agricultural Engineering. This technician level course is perfect for people who have a passion for engineering.

The course has been specially developed to provide you with the technical skills and practical experience to become a multi-skilled engineer capable of influencing engineering in the future.

You have the option of studying over two or three years, with the three year sandwich course including a year’s relevant work placement.

You will gain:

  • Level 3 Diploma in Agricultural Engineering
  • Functional Skills or GCSE in English and Maths depending on previous qualifications

Course content

  • Engine, transmission, hydraulic, electrical and machinery technology
  • Fabrication and welding
  • Computing applications
  • Fault diagnosis
  • Engineering drawing and design
  • Practical classes to support all of the above topics
  • Functional Skills or GCSE in English and Maths depending on previous qualifications

Entry requirements

  • At least 4 GCSEs at grade C or above, preferably including English, Maths and Science, or
  • Level 2 Diploma in Agricultural Engineering at Merit or Distinction, or
  • Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma at Merit

    • You will be studying in the beautiful, rural setting of Cheshire, one mile from the market town of Nantwich with good connections to Manchester, Birmingham, Liverpool and Chester. 

      The Reaseheath campus itself is small enough to retain its friendly, family atmosphere, but large enough for you to be able to mix with lots of groups of students. 

      Our front lawn is great to sit out on during the summer and the College lake has much wildlife to watch. 

      Over the past few years we have invested over £50 million in our campus to give you the best possible environment for learning.
