Course description

The BTEC Extended Cerficate in Informaon Technology is suitable for students who are interested in learning about the Informaon Technology sector alongside other fields of study. It allows you to gain an understanding of the use of informaon technology systems in business. The course is part praccal and part academic, and suits students who enjoy technical as well as creave subjects. Students are assessed through a combinaon of coursework and exam.

You will study four units: Informaon Technology Systems; Creang Systems to Manage Informaon; Using Social Media in Business; and Data Modelling or Website Development.

Entry requirements

ICT GCSE Grade C or above
GCSE English—Grade 4

Assessment

Students are assessed through a combinaon of coursework and exam. The first unit is assessed through a wri(en exam, but the other three are coursework units.
