Accounting AAT Level 3 Diploma at Bedford College

Course description

This Level 3 Accountancy course leads on from the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) Level 2 training programme, and will further develop your skills in costing, financial accounting, cash management, indirect tax, ethics and spreadsheets.

Course content

During this course you will study a range of topics, including:

  • Accounts Preparation
  • Preparing financial statements for sole traders and partnerships
  • Cash Management
  • Ethics
  • Indirect Tax
  • Spreadsheets.

 

As part of your studies you will also be able to take an AS-Level Accounting qualification.

Entry requirements

To begin this course you will need:

  • AAT Level 2 qualification
  • a minimum of four GCSEs at grade A*-C, including maths and English
  • OR, an equivalent Level 2 qualification in Accounting as sound knowledge in double entry bookkeeping is required.

 

Entry is subject to a successful interview. If you have significant relevant experience without the above qualification requirements you may still be considered on an individual basis.

Assessment

You will be assessed continually throughout the course; assessment will take the form of both exams and College assignments.

Financial information

This course could be free! You will be eligible if you are aged 19-24 on the 31st August of the year you are starting your course and are actively seeking employment and in receipt of a means tested benefit (such as job seekers, housing benefit, council tax benefit). Please note you will need to be able to produce evidence of the benefit in your name when you come to enrol.

Future opportunities

On successful completion of this course you could progress on to Accounting Level 4, or begin your career in an accountancy role.
