The Extended Project – Level 3 at The Clarendon Academy
The Extended Project is a nationally recognised qualification that allows students to demonstrate their abilities to research and develop an idea of their own. This may take the form of an investigation, an artefact, a performance or a dissertation depending on the content of the piece. The idea is to reflect the experience of working in a University context. Many schools across the county have taken up the Extended Project and students have found it beneficial in their applications to popular University Courses as it marks them out as the kind of learners that Universities want. It has been piloted through a number of public schools with good links to Oxbridge.
For each project students will need to provide:
- A proposal form which explains the project – students will not be able to move on until this is done
- A record of the student’s working practice in the form of a time plan. This is to provide evidence for the 120 ‘Guided Learning Hours’
- The Project
- A presentation
- A review of the Project
