Music Practitioners Rsl Level 2 Rockschool Diploma at Hertford Regional College
The RSL Level 2 Music Performance Diploma is designed for learners who want to develop their skills within the music industry. The course focuses on skills required to progress within the modern music industry. It also aims to equip learners for progression to further and higher education e.g. the Music Performance RSL Level 3 Diploma.
The course includes learning to perform effectively on your chosen instrument, including rehearsal and performance skills.
There are many aspects of Music Technology covered including recording, composing and arranging music. You will also experience playing live in various bands and performing to an audience.
- 136 GCSE entry points or equivalent from top 5 GCSEs including a Grade D in English Language
- Grade 3 or equivalent on your chosen Instrument
There is no final exam. Each module is assessed either on an individual or group basis depending upon the assignment. There is both practical and written coursework as well as the opportunity to take graded instrumental exams.
Free to those under 19 on 31st August 2016. If you are 19 or over on 31st August 2016, have been a permanent resident in the EU for the last three years, and are a fee paying new entrant you will pay £1500 tuition fee (this was the fee for 2015/16 and could be subject to change for 2016/17). However, fee paying students continuing on the same course for a second year will be charged £1500 tuition fee (this was the fee for 2015/16 and could be subject to change for 2016/17). You will be required to pay an administration fee, exam fees, kit fee, materials fee and an Awarding Body Registration fee if applicable. For these costs please contact our Information Centre.
You will be able to progress onto a Level 3 Diploma for Music Practitioners (Performance or Business) or a Level 3 Extended Diploma for Music Practitioners. Other music performing arts and media pathways are also other options.
All students will have the opportunity to sit RSL Instrumental Graded Examinations on their chosen instrument. Our enrichment programme includes industry-based educational visits, live performance opportunities, and master classes by professionals working in the industry.
What will I need?
There are no additional kits costs associated with the course. There may, however, be enrolment fees to pay. You will also be expected to purchase the relevant Instrumental Grade Book as required. Any costs associated with trips or performance opportunities will be charged as applicable throughout the year.
