Advanced GCE in ICT at Cockermouth School

Course description

There are four units of work . At AS level these are Unit 1 - Information, Systems and Applications including topics on data, spreadsheet concepts and relational database concepts. Unit 2 - Structured ICT Tasks A2 Unit 3 -  ICT Systems, Applications, and Implications. (External assessment) including the design of a computer-based information system and networks and communication Unit 4 - ICT Project - This will explore definition, investigation and analysis. Produce a client driven project.

Entry requirements

5 GCSE'sA*-C. Grade A in ICT or Distinction in the core OCR National course.

Assessment

Via written examination and coursework.

Future opportunities

Many careers require good ICT skills. In particular it will develop your E-commerce skills, preparing you for a career in the business world and will further prepare you for university.
