French GCE A2 Level at Weatherhead High School
You should have a passion for languages and a commitment to studying around your topic work. Do you like listening to pop music in different languages? Do you like reading magazines and websites from different languages?
During your course, you will be offered the opportunity to visit the target country and to practise your language. You will have access to a Language Assistant to help you to develop your speaking skills and you will have the opportunity to take part in an e-twinning project with a school in the target country.
You need at least a B at GCSE to study languages at A Level.
At the end of each year you will sit two exams: a speaking exam, which is conducted by an external examiner, and listening, reading and writing papers which include a grammar and translation exercises and essay-writing.
Careers using Modern Foreign Languages include teaching, translating, interpreting and working in business. More people across Europe are learning a new language to enhance their job prospects than ever before.
