BTEC First in Sport Level 2 Diploma at The National CofE Academy

Course description

A BTEC First Diploma in Sport is a practical, work related course. You learn by completing projects and assignments that are based on realistic workplace situations, activities and demands. This Diploma is equivalent to 4 GCSEs grades A*-E .The course is 100% coursework and comprises of six units – three core units that everybody takes and three specialist units. The specialist units enable you to study one of the two specialist pathways (sport or outdoor education) in more depth.

Course content

All students take the two core units:

  • The Body in Sport
  • Health,  Safety and Injury

You then choose four specialist units from:

  • The Sports  Industry
  • Preparatio for Sport
  • Planning and leading Sports Activities
  • Practical Sports
  • Practical Outdoor and Adventurous Activities
  • Work Based Project in Sport
  • Instructing Exercise and Fitness
  • Sport and Leisure Facility Operations
