NVQ Diploma in Light Vehicle Maintenance & Repair Competence at Appleby Heritage Centre

Course description

This course is for anybody developing a career in the motor industry. This practical qualification allows you to demonstrate your skills on the job and has been produced by the institute of the motor industry.

Course content

You will learn how to do routine vehicle maintenance including:

  • Removal and replacement of vehicle units and components
  • Diagnosis and rectification of vehicle faults

Entry requirements

There are no entry requirements but an interest in motor vehicles would be an advantage.

Assessment

You will be assessed in the workplace by workplace observations, witness testimonies, verbal questioning and City & Guilds GOLA multiple choice tests. 

Future opportunities

This qualification will allow you to show employers and customers you have the skills of a competent motor vehicle technician.

This qualification leads on to the Level 3 Motor Vehicle Qualification.
