Business Administration Intermediate Apprenticeship Level 2 at New College Stamford

Course description

Kick start your career in commercial environment with this Apprenticeship enabling you to combine study at College with working in a business.You will study the practical skills required to complete a Level 2 NVQ in Business Administration including:Managing your own performance in a business environmentImproving your own performance in a business environmentWorking in a business environmentCommunicating in business environmentYou will also be expected to achieve a Technical Certificate, Functional Skills in Maths English and ICT at Level 1, Personal Learning and Thinking Skills (PLTS) and an Employment Rights and Responsibilities (ERR) unit, which along with the NVQ will make up the full Intermediate level 2 Apprenticeship in Business Administration.

Course content

Your programme will be mostly based and delivered in your workplace although some attendance at college may be required throughout the duration of your learning. Your will undertake modules of study including both theory and practice. Underpinning knowledge, training and assessment will be undertaken primarily in the workplace and some home study will be required.

Entry requirements

You must attend an interview with a Business Administration tutor and complete a skills test and a literacy and numeracy assessment. You will also require a firm job offer from an employer in the business industry to start this course. If you haven’t already secured employment, we may be able to support you as we employers interested in taking on an apprentices.

Assessment

Assessment will be continuous through oral, written and practical work. An assessor will visit you in the workplace to carry out practical assessments and monitor your progress. Certification of the Apprenticeship framework will be issued on successful completion of your portfolio evidence for the NVQ, achievement of the Technical Certificate, all Functional Skills required, PLTS and the ERR Award.

16 – 18 years – Course 100% funded19 – 23 years – No contribution is required at this moment in time.(employers may wish to help towards the costs)24+ years – Not funded. Course costs payable by employer/individual but loans may be available through the 24+ Advanced Learning Loan scheme.

Future opportunities

You could progress to the Apprenticeship in Business Administration, Customer Service or Management Advanced Level 3, or permanent employment with opportunities to progress to more senior administration, supervision or management roles.
