Course description

The BTEC Level 3 Travel & Tourism courses are ideal if you are interested in entering this rapidly growing industry.

Course content

Students will study the BTEC Level 3 Foundation Diploma in Year 1 and upon successful completion of this can progress to the Extended Diploma in Year 2 . The Foundation diploma is equivalent to 1.5 A levels. The course will provide an introduction to the study of the travel and tourism sector. It gives entrants to the sector the underpinning knowledge and skills needed to meet industry and higher education requirements. This course acts as the ideal preparation for a range of jobs in the public or private sectors including Travel Agents, Resort Representative & Cabin Crew.

Entry requirements

5 GCSEs (Grade C or above including maths or English) or equivalent

Assessment

Assignments, task set by Pearson and written exam.

Financial information

Full Time Further Education courses are free for those who are under 19 on 31 August of the year they start their course.  Exam resit fees may apply if and when applicable.

Future opportunities

This qualification helps you to progress on to higher level qualifications such as a degree or professional qualification. It can also act as the ideal preparation for a range of jobs in the public or private sectors including Travel agents, Tourist information, Ground staff at airports and cabin crew, Resort representatives.
