Course description

Newton Rigg College is ideally located on the door step to the UK’s premier adventure tourist destinationl and is therefore the perfect place to study travel and tourism. The Lake Distract National Park is fast becoming recognised as the UK’s tourist capital both in terms of rural and adventure tourism and this has a major impact on the local economy. Our expert staff will provide you with both theoretical and practical study whilst blending a mix of adventure and rural tourism. Utilising our links with the National Park, the Forestry Commission, National Trust, English Heritage to name but a few. You will have the opportunity to participate and learn about a number of adventure sports and to visit local, national and international tourist attractions.

Entry requirements

Normally four GCSEs at grade C or above (which should include English, Maths and Science as applicable to the individual course), or an equivalent Level 2 qualification at a suitable grade.
