Introduction to Vehicle Systems IMI Entry Level 3 Diploma at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College
These entry level study programme will introduce you to many of the basic mechanical, maintenance and repair skills necessary for gaining employment in the motor industry as a vehicle maintenance technician or refinisher. You will undertake activities in the workshop developing your skills to repair motor vehicles.
To gain the full diploma for these qualifications learners must achieve all the planned units, which consists of seventeen workshop related tasks. Learners will also attend compulsory English and Maths sessions as part of the study programme. Science Technology Engineering and Mathematics are promoted within all lesson to stretch and challenge students.
No formal GCSE grades are required, however initial assessment results at entry 2 should be achieved. A school report detailing a good attitude and attendance as well as a positive interview is required.
You will be assessed carrying out a number of practical tasks in the workshop, there will also be in-class verbal and written assessments and a number of on-line assessments for all of your study programme elements (including English and Maths).
You will require steel toe boots, overalls, pens/pencils, a notebook, a memory stick and a folder.

On successful completion of your study programme including English and Maths your next step will be to progress onto one of our Level 1 study programmes. To progress attendance must be 95%.
You will be required to attend 3 days per week as this is a full-time course. It is compulsory for you to attend all sessions including English and Maths Functional skills. Attendance required must be 95% or above. Work experience is also a mandatory element to the study programme which must be attended.
