Beauty Therapy Level 2 Apprenticeship at Northumberland College

Course description

This course is for anyone who works in a beauty salon and wants to gain a qualification. An Apprenticeship is an excellent way to earn money whilst gaining hands on practical work experience.

Course content

You will develop skills in waxing, manucures, pedicures, make-up and eye and lash treatments. Ideal if you want to start working in the beauty industry straight away. You will be employed in the workplace and gain formal qualifications through attendance at College or delivery in the workplace.

Entry requirements

You should have two GCSEs at Grade D or above in English and Maths or a relevant Level 1 qualification and be employed in the industry.


Your progress will be assessed by written assignments and exams. You will also be assessed on client treatments within the practical part of your chosen qualification, i.e. facials, eye treatments, waxing, manicure, pedicure or make-up techniques.

Future opportunities

After completing the course you could progress onto an Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Beauty Therapy.
