Team Leading Intermediate Apprenticeship at UK Training & Development

Course description

This qualification is aimed at individuals who have responsibility for the work of others, as they lead a team. It is suitable for people who are entering management, or who have the ability and the opportunity to demonstrate recognisable management and leadership skills, for example, providing leadership for a team, encouraging innovation, allocating and checking work. This qualification recognises the skills and competences of candidates in the workplace and provide individuals with an opportunity to demonstrate the skills and knowledge needed for a career in management and leadership. The units encompass a broad range of competencies from the management and leadership sector. Progression This qualification forms part of a suite of Leadership and Management NVQs at Levels 2, 3, 5 and 7. Individuals who achieve this qualification will have the opportunity to progress to the Levels 3, 5 and 7 NVQs in Management. Additionally OCR offers a number of qualifications in other sector areas that will allow suitable progression routes to and from the NVQs. Such areas include Administration, Customer Service and Retail NVQs. Apprenticeship Framework There are a number of elements to each Apprenticeship and this is called the framework. Each Apprenticeship framework has three main strands: ? Competence based element ? Knowledge element ? Skills element The three strands are sometimes accompanied by additional qualifications to give the most relevant skills and knowledge required for the job.

Future opportunities

With additional training, apprentices may be able to progress in their careers to roles such as first line managers, section managers, assistant managers, trainee managers, senior supervisors and junior non-commissioned officers (armed forces).Intermediate apprentices, with support and opportunities in the workplace, can progress onto: the Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in Management other Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeships such as Business & Administration the Advanced (14 – 19) Diplomas in a range of related sectors, including Business, Administration and Finance, Information Technology, Public Services and Retail Business further education to undertake management, business related or other qualifications.
