Course content

Year 1

Unit 1: Historical Themes in Breadth – The Expansion and Challenge of Nationalism 
The Collapse of the Liberal State and the Triumph of Fascism in Italy, 1896-1943. From Second Reich to Third Reich: Germany, 1918-45.
Unit 2: British History Depth Study – Conflict and Change in C19th and C20th Britain The Experience of Warfare in Britain: Crimea, Boer and the First World War.

Year 2

Unit 3: Depth Study and Associated Historical Controversies – War and Peace: C20th International Relations
A World Divided: Superpower Relations, 1944-90. 
Unit 4: Historical Enquiry - Coursework 
The USA: From Reconstruction to Civil Rights 1877-1981.

Grade B in History & English
