Diploma in Performing and Production Arts (University of the Arts London) - Level 2 at South Thames College

Course description

You'll become a versatile performer as this course is designed around mixed disciplines. You'll work on different performance techniques including dance, drama, singing and rehearsals. And there'll be plenty of shows to take part in, in different roles. Most of your lessons will be in our purpose built drama theatre and dance studios.

We have experts coming in through the year to give you advice and guidance based on their own experience. There are also plenty of trips to show you different sides to the business. And you'll have a Gigajam account to help you record, compose and improvise music - and to give you additional qualifications.

Entry requirements

Three GCSEs A*-D including English or maths; OR a relevant Level 1 qualification plus English and maths assessed by us to be at an appropriate level. You'll also have an audition (monologue or dance solo) in order to make sure the course is a good match for you.

Assessment

Continuous assessment through written work and productions. All assessment is based on the rehearsal and performance process in your individual production company.

Future opportunities

You can progress to a Level 3 course with a view to study at drama school or university.

Further information

Your course kit will include some t-shirts to perform in ('rehearsal blacks') and also tickets for excursions to theatre and other performances to help you learn from the professionals. We use our College discount to give you a kit of greater value than the cost. Payment may also be assessed on your circumstances.
