Beauty Therapy NVQ 2 (Enhanced Programme) at Stafford College
The course covers a range of practical skills and relevant theoretical knowledge. The student will be thoroughly prepared to enter the Beauty Therapy Industry. Continuing development of Functional Skills is an integral part of this course. Students should allocate approximately 10 hours per week for home study to support this course.
Theory and practice of all aspects of Beauty Therapy Treatments:
- Make Up
- Eye Treatments
- Manicure & Pedicure
- Relevant Anatomy and Physiology
- Employment Standards for Salon Administration and Practice
- 2 GCSE’s Grade D or above, preferably in English, Maths or functional skills equivalent at Level 2 and Science copies of certificates will be required
- All applicants will be subject to an interview and places will be allocated accordingly
- Students must be prepared to meet the College standards of presentation and behaviour
A portfolio of evidence will be collected by the student for assessment. This will consist of written, oral and observed practical evidence.
Students are encouraged to bring their own laptops or electronic note pads in to class to facilitate learning.
Whilst Stafford College will attempt to encourage clients, you will need to create a client base to complete your practical assessments.
Kit & Uniform – £266.00 (approx) payable at beginning of course. This includes trips and workshops relevant to the course, students can apply to the Learner/Adult Support Fund if financial assistance is required or pay in instalments. In addition students will need to purchase a pair of low heeled black shoes.
Please note that students aged 19 plus may be required to pay exam and registration costs. This will be payable during the Autumn term. You may be able to get support towards these costs from the College Learner Support Fund, contact Carole Moore on 01785 275512 for further information.
