Independent Living Entry Diploma at Lakes College West Cumbria

Course description

This qualification is ideal for people wanting to gain knowledge and skills in cooking and independent living. Time will be spent in practical and theory classes on a variety of activities that will enhance independence. All learners are required to complete functional skills in English and Maths at an appropriate level.

Free to all 16-18 and 19-23 year olds where needed as a stepping stone to progress to a Full Level 2. Also free to learners who are in receipt of JSA (Job Seekers Allowance) ESA ((Employment Support Allowance, (work related activity)) or Universal Credit (mandated). Where fees are payable you can set up a payment plan that best suits your needs

Future opportunities

Learners could progress onto a Level 1 or 2 vocational qualification. Alternatively you could seek employment an a relevant area. Past students have been known to go on to working within the hospitality industry as well as retail and customer service roles
