Biology at Sacred Heart Catholic High School

Course description

Biology is the science of life and its study will provide deeper understanding of the human body, animals, plants and the natural environment and the increasingly important fields of biotechnology and genetics. You will gain insights into the
remarkable elegance of living systems whilst developing key scientific skills. Topics studied at AS include cell biology, biochemistry, human health and disease and the variety of life. In A2 you will study genetics, respiration and photosynthesis,
ecology, nerves and hormones and biotechnology.

Exam Board: AQA Biology
Assessment: 2 exams and a coursework unit (ISA)
