Film Studies A Level at The Studio School Liverpool

Course description

The A Level Specification in film studies is design to deepen students' understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of film, the major art form of the twentieth century, and one developing new modes of expression and exhibition in the first decades of the twenty-first century.

The spcification builds on what cineliteracy learners have already developed informally by enjoying film.
Through screenings and discussion of wide range of different kinds of films, learners will develop skills of observation, critical analysis and personal reflection, as well as your creativity and practical skills, either in audio-visual or written form.

Future opportunities

Universities offer an increasin number ofcourses in Film, Creative Media and Communications, both practical and theoretical. A film studies A Level can also lead to other degrees as it develops research and essay-writing skills.
