Beauty Therapy Level 2 Diploma at Middlesbrough College

Course description

This course is for anyone aspiring to become a beauty therapist. It will cover practical and all aspects of theory, with an assignment to cover each unit. You will practice treatments within our modern ‘Francesco's' commercial beauty salon. You may have the opportunity to undertake additional optional qualifications (this may incur an additional cost). This course may include 9.00am starts and a late night.

Course content

Units studied:- 201 Working in beauty related industries 202 Follow health and safety practice in the salon 203 Client care & communication in beauty related industries 204 Provide facial skin care 205 Promote products & services to clients in a salon 206 Remove hair using waxing techniques 207 Provide manicure services 208 Provide pedicure services 209 Apply make up 210 Provide eyelash & eyebrow treatments 212 Create an image based on a theme, within the hair & beauty sector 216 Salon reception duties Maths and English (4 hours per week, required for learners who have not already achieved ‘C’ grades or above) You will attend 6 hours of theory sessions a week You will attend 8 hours of practical sessions a week

Entry requirements

3 GCSEs grade C or above including English (or other qualifications acceptable to the College). "If you do not have a Grade A to C in English and/or Maths, you will be required to continue studying these subjects as part of your Study Programme."

Assessment

Theory 12 Assignments/Exams Practical 45 assessments (A minimum of 5 client’s required) Functional Skills 1 For each Functional skill
