Broadcast Media and Film (L3) Extended Diploma at Stanmore College
This course, equivalent to 3 A Levels, is intended for anyone with an interest in Media, particular Film and Television.
You will investigate a range of media products and industries, and plan and produce short films, documentaries, 'live' TV shows, music videos and experimantal films.
In the second year of the course you will spend a week on location shooting a previously scripted film. You will also get to work on real 'live' briefs with organisations outside of the college.
Visiting professionals are regularly invited in to talk to students about the creative media industries and how to pursue a career in them. You will get work experience opportunities in a media environment and work on 'real' briefs with real organisations in and outside of college.
Year 1: Short Film > Music Video > Pre-production planning > Analyse films
Year 2: Location film > Multi-camera broadcast > Documentary > Real client briefs > Experimental film.

Create sound tracks
Work with professional organisations
Create TV graphics
Film 'live' events
4 GCSE's at grade C or above, including GCSE English or, full level 2 diploma and GCSE English grade C or above, or level 2 literacy functional skills.
Passion for the course area is a must and a portfolio is desirable but not essential.

100% Coursework internally assessed and externally moderated.
This course provides a strong base for progression into a variety of undergraduate studies in film, television, sound production, journalism, digital media, marketing and PR and various employmnet opportunities.
Equivalent to three A Levels. 100% coursework.
