Engineering Technologies Diploma Level 2 at St Helens College
With this course you'll be working in our industry-standard engineering workshops, learning all of the skills and knowledge you need to work successfully in the industry.
You'll study engineering principles and techniques, as well as computer aided design, milling and turning.
You will cover the following units:
- Environmental awareness
- Engineering techniques
- Engineering principles
- Turning techniques
- Milling techniques
- Computer aided drawing
You need a minimum of four GCSEs at grade D or above, including maths and science.
English and maths forms an important part of your future, ensuring you achieve the best success in your chosen career. But don't worry, if you haven't got the desired grades, we will still have a course available for you.
You will be assessed by internally set tests and assignments.
If you are a school leaver, aged 16-18, (under the age of 19 on or before 31st August 2016), you do not pay tuition fees or examination and registration fees and may be eligible for additional support depending on your financial situation.
Once you have completed this course, you could choose to continue your studies at St Helens College at level 3.
Alternatively, you may choose to look for employment in the industry or progress onto an apprenticeship, where you'll gain further qualifications whilst earning some money.
