Health Access to Higher Education at Stratford-upon-Avon College

Course description

Passionate about a career in nursing, midwifery, occupational therapy, social work or other health related profession? Then the Access to HE Diploma (Health) is for you.

The widely recognised Access to Higher Education Diplomas are designed for adults wishing to be accepted onto a higher education course but otherwise lack the necessary qualifications to gain entry.

Delivered over the span of a single year the Access to HE Diploma (Health) will provide you the skills, knowledge and confidence needed to succeed at University.

This Diploma consists of 60 credits, 45 graded credits at level 3 and 15 ungraded credits at level 2 or level 3.

A choice from the following list:

  • Biology
  • Health Studies
  • Psychology
  • Skills for Learning

Entry requirements

You will need to have at least:

  • Maths and English GCSE grade ā€˜Cā€™ / grade 4 or above. If you possess a grade ā€˜Cā€™ / grade 4 or above in only one of these subjects then you must complete the other alongside the Access to HE qualification.

You will also be required to attend an initial interview and assessment where you will have the opportunity to demonstrate your commitment to the course and your interest in pursuing your chosen career.

It is important that you have thoroughly researched your chosen higher education course and attended university open days before embarking on this course.

Please note: when applying to university a DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be necessary
