Mathematics Entry Level at Woodside School

Course description

This course is designed to cater for those students unlikely to achieve a grade in GCSE Mathematics. However, it provides a basis for suitable students to progress towards a GCSE in Mathematics. This specification will assess achievement at levels 1, 2 and 3 of the National Curriculum. Specification aims The aims of this specification are to encourage students to: Develop a feel for number, carry out simple calculations and understand the significance of the results obtained.Appreciate the place and use of mathematics in society and apply mathematical concepts to situations arising in their own lives.Develop a positive attitude to mathematics, including confidence, enjoyment and perseverance.Work independently and co-operatively.
