...you are interested in the interior design industry and wish to pursue a career in this field. You must have the aptitude for the formal disciplines of design as well as creative flare.
Taking this course also allows you to become a part of our Creative Arts Academy.
The research of art movements will form the basis of this course allowing the opportunity to reflect, be inspired and motivated to ‘develop’ own personal concepts.
You will learn how to research according to brief requirements producing inspiration boards and experimenting with a range of alternate paint and decorative effects.
You will study a range of formal design applications such as floor planning and wall elevations working on scale drawings.
You will learn to construct prototypes according to design concepts.
Challenging briefs will result in:
- Home bedroom design
- Commercial space design
- Stage set design
- Gastro - the restaurant
- Entertainment - the night club
- Community - local outdoor event
You will need to be focused and committed on this course. Prepare for challenging tasks and tight schedules but with insight and initiative work will prepare you for university and apprenticeships.
Grade 9-4 in English and Maths and three or more GCSEs at grades A*-C, preferably including Art at grade C (or a portfolio of creative work).
Additional guidance is available at interview.
40% controlled assessment 60% coursework
This course is recognised by UCAS and will aid progression on to university or provide ample evidence of ability for apprenticeships.
Opportunities exist to develop and enhance your assignments on local and international trips. London, New York, Paris, Rome and Venice are a few of the trips our students have been on in the past.
