IT, Software & Telecoms Professionals Intermediate Apprenticeship Level 2 at North Warwickshire and South Leicestershire College

Course description

Computing is an integral part of everyday life. With technology developing at a faster rate than ever before, this is an ever evolving industry with a huge range of career options. This Apprenticeship is suitable for people working in a range of IT Support roles and includes a balance of content to ensure you have an appropriate set of skills to operate in today’s IT & Telecoms job roles.

Course content

Level 2 OCR Diploma in ICT Professional Competence. Examples of units you may cover include: -Develop own effectiveness and professionalism -Health and safety in ICT -Customer care in ICT -Interpersonal and written communication -Computer games development You will also cover functional skills in maths, English and ICT at Level 2, workplace Employment Rights and Responsibilities, personal learning and thinking skills.

Entry requirements

To progress onto a Level 2 Apprenticeship you will need up to five GCSEs grade D-G, including a grade D in English and Maths*.

In order to start an Apprenticeship, you will need to be employed or find an employer who is recruiting an Apprentice.

You will be assessed in the workplace.

Future opportunities

Potential job roles include: Support Technician, Website Administrator, Helpdesk Professional, Field Operative (Line Installer and Professional). You may also progress on to an Advanced Apprenticeship.

The apprenticeship is achieved entirely in the workplace and takes 12 months to complete.
