Film Studies at The Ravensbourne School

Course description

We offer a course designed to deepen your understanding, appreciation and enjoyment of a film. You will study cinema as a medium, as an art form and a social and economic institution. The department has both digital and VHS editing equipment and an extensive collection of film related texts. Other students combine this subject with... Media Studies, Business Studies, English Literature......

Entry requirements

A minimum of 5 GCSEs at grade A* - C.

Future opportunities

Later you might want to study.... Film Theory, Film Criticism, Film History or a Media related subject at Higher Education. You could take this course with other advanced level courses such as Media or English, to prepare for higher education in related courses or more general higher education courses. With Further training, you could go into a job related to film such as working within a Film or TV Crew. The course also helps you develop the skills, understanding and knowledge that many employers across lots of industries are looking for, especially in the media and production industries.
