Childcare CACHE Entry Level 3 Certificate at Walsall College
This course is suitable for students who have left school with no formal qualifications but have a genuine love of children. Students would need to be interested in meeting the physical, emotional, social, language and intellectual needs of the baby or young
This course will develop your practical skills and confidence in caring for children at home. The qualification gives you a taste of what it is like to study childcare, and you will learn about a variety of topics, including:
- Confidence building through play
- Listening and talking to a young child
- Providing a safe and clean environment
- Healthy eating and parenting skills
- Getting a new baby or child into a routine
Students will have the opportunity to undertake work experience with the real life baby sim dolls, and participate in lots of creative classroom activities. Assessment takes place in the form of coursework, and completion of the course can lead to progression onto CACHE Foundation Diploma in Caring for Children Level 1. Students also study Maths and English Functional Skills and Employability at E3.
No formal qualifications are required. Entrance to the course is by passing a formal interview and initial assessments in Maths and English.
All units will be internally assessed using a range of methods which could include: written assignments or tasks such as designing a leaflet or booklet, charts or diagrams or setting up a display.
Progression to CACHE Foundation Diploma in Caring for Children Level 1.
